Teaching With Legos
How many of you have lived through this scenario…you are walking through your living room, looking straight ahead like a good person should, and OUCH!!!! You step right on a Lego. I recently saw a quote on Pinterest that read, “Feet (noun): a device used for finding Legos in the dark.”
Wow, isn’t that the truth.
No matter where you step, no matter where you look, no matter where you sit, there are Legos. For the next 10 days (minus weekends) I am going to share with you some ideas on how you can take those precious but pesky little objects and use them in your homeschool. Imagine the delight on your child’s face when you break out the Legos right in the middle of homeschool lessons!

How can I store our Legos when they are not being played with?
I have the absolute most perfect solution a mom could ever dream of…the Lay-n-Go. Seriously, Amy Fazackerley is a genius. Simply put, the Lay-n-Go (besides being one of the most brilliant products I have ever seen) is a activity mat, cleanup, storage and carryall solution in one. Oh, that looks really nice! WE use a blanket to dump them on and then put them back in containers….I’ll have to check this out!
Being the mom of a huge LEGO lover, I appreciated this post. I have never seen the Lay-N-Go, but I’m going to look at it now!!

We love legos! That lay-and-go looks so cool! Right now we have a plastic tub with a hinged top that holds our bulk legos. We have also used those plasic stackable drawer/bins in the past.

Needless to say I love Lego so will be looking forward to visiting your blog over the next 10 days. I hadn’t heard of the Lay-And-Go products before but have implemented similar concepts in my Lego-mad family over the last decade.
Sometimes I think quilts were born to be Lego mats!

Hey, look! I made it around to your 10 Day series! (I’m still working down the list..)
I have a relatively new serious lego lover in my house. He got his first legos for his bday in November and more for Christmas. I bought some on ebay to get him started — and I need to get more! =p Looking forward to reading through your resources!
This was SO fun to read. I can’t wait to see how and when I can use this info.
When my son played with legos I hated cleaning them up. So we would put down aquilt or light blanket. Anything off the blanket he was in charge of picking up. We stored them in a green tote. We still have legos in the tote.
Love the 10 days of teaching with Legos. A couple of months ago my son started his own Lego blog. http://www.buildinglegoswithchrist.blogspot.com
He uses his Legos for just about everything.
